I’m very grateful to the Olmsted Network’s interest in interviewing me about my new book, Fairsted.
I’ve long been a member of that national organization that promotes and celebrates Olmsted’s parks and principles. For about 18 months during the five years writing of the book, I was even worked for them, helping with their communications. I learned a lot working with the Network, and that time helped frame my perspective and define my approach. During our interview, we talk about both, and how my work aims to support Olmsted scholars, but also offer my own ideas about how Frederick came to be the artist we all admire.
